I display nationalism by wearing shirts that have my the American flag on them and by just being proud of my country. Before Italy became Italy it was just a property of the ottoman empire. During 1815 Italy was no longer content with being ruled by another country (the ottomans) and therefore everything was divided and in chaos. After 1848, Italian nationalists looked to the Kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia for leadership. Piedmont-Sardinia was the largest and most powerful of the Italian states. The kingdom had also adopted a liberal constitution in 1848. With careful diplomacy and well-chosen alliances and nationalistic words, he achieved that expansion. Almost as a coincidence, he also achieved the unification of Italy. Mazzini also distrusted his prime minister Cavour. He believed correctly that Cavour wanted to strengthen Sardinia’s power, not to unite Italy. But this wasn't the end to there problems they also suffered from a falling economy.

Simon Bolivar

Simon Bolivar was born in Caracas on July 24, 1783. Do to the studies of thinkers like Copernicus and Galileo we now have the Heliocentric theory which was the belief that the sun was at the center of the universe instead of the earth and all the other planets revolved around it. Geocentrism was the first theory and it was based on the Bible and the thoughts of the Catholic church. Heliocentism on the other hand was borne from the scientific revolution.

The trial of Galileo was one many realize now was a bit harsh. The Catholic Church put Galileo on trial following the publication of his book in 1632 for agreeing with Copernicus's theory of Heliocentrism which was the belief that the sun was the center of the universe which angered the church who believed in Geocentrism which was the belief that the earth was the center of the universe. This caused a big controversy but in the end Galileo was sentenced to life of house arrest and not until recently have the church admitted to the error of the ruling

The Scientific Revolution

The Scientific Revolution was a period in time that brought about a new way of thinking that challenged the theory's of ancient Greek philosophers such as Aristotle who's philosophy's had been followed for hundreds of years. The theory of creation derived from the old testament which is part of the holy Scriptures also known as the bible. This belief was a large parts of peoples lives during the dark ages which gave the church power over how and what people thought.Which made it hard for individual thinkers to voice their scientific opinion if it didn't agree with the holy church.

Darwin's theory of evolution was the thought that all life had a common ancestor. Darwin also thought that complex organisms had evolved from more simplistic life forms, the idea was that as a life form evolves over time the advancements that aid survival are passed down to future generations where as the life form from the same species who didn't evolve would die out. This was called natural selection. Darwin's theory of natural selection is an occurrence that happens lowly over time to preserve the survival of a species.

Test

Test
