John Locke and "The Enlightenment"

John Locke had a heavy influence in democracy when it came to Thomas Jefferson writing the constitution. The rights of all men that Jefferson was talking about was that we all have a right to be free and happy and that we should never as free men (and Women) have to deal with a corrupt power or government, that since government gets their power from the governed (us) we as free people have the right to over throw them so to speak.
